Saudi Summer 2010 to launch next week

His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will launch next week the “Saudi Summer 2010” activities.

His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will launch next week the “Saudi Summer 2010″ activities. Concurrently, a press conference will be held in conjunction with its Provincial Tourism Organizations (PTOs) along with the steering committees of the festivals at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh.

During the press conference, detailed information will be provided on the festivals and tourism events for summer season this year. The conference will be accompanied by an exhibition displaying the pavilions of various festivals, in collaboration with a number of tourism operators. In the exhibition, a number of leaflets and brushers on the festivals programs will be distributed to the visitors.

Mr. Hamad Al Sheikh, director general of Tourism Programs and Products said: โ€œThis conference aims to highlight the summer tourism events and activities, their important role in tourism attraction, as well as realizing the prospective economic revenues. The conference also aims to network and open communication channels with relevant bodies in the field of organization of summer events, as well as exchange of experience in this respect.” He added that SCTA, is providing the necessary technical, marketing, financial, and media support to the committees to maximize on the Kingdomโ€™s tourism potential and turn the Kingdom into a premium tourist destination for locals, and visitors.

Al Sheikh further stated that the steering committees of summer events and festivals have concluded their preparations under the supervision of PTOs. The festivals of this summer are planned to be distinct and sophisticated compared to the ones in previous years. Al Sheikh referred to the persistent follow up of HRH president of SCTA on the preparations progress of the festivals and his orders for full support for them so as to fulfill the aspirations of the domestic tourist, who is the main target of SCTA in all its different programs and activities.
