Greece and China signed fourteen cooperation agreements covering industries including tourism and shipping, Vice Premier of China Zhang Dejiang said in Athens.

“The Chinese government will encourage strong Chinese companies to come to Greece and find business partners for investments,” Zhang said during a meeting with Prime Minister George Papandreou, according to an e-mailed transcript from Papandreou’s Athens-based office today.

The agreements also span the telecommunications industry as well as the export of olive oil from the Mediterranean country. No financial details were immediately available.
