New chief information officer at Priceline.com North American Business Unit

Priceline.com today announced the promotion of Michael Diliberto to chief information officer, North America, moving up from the position of chief software architect.

Priceline.com today announced the promotion of Michael Diliberto to chief information officer, North America, moving up from the position of chief software architect.

Mr. Diliberto succeeds Ron Rose, 58, who is joining Dell as senior vice president. Mr. Rose has served as priceline.com’s chief information officer since joining the company from Standard & Poor’s in 1999. Mr. Diliberto will report to Chris Soder, priceline.com’s president, North American Travel.

“Ron Rose has been with priceline.com almost since our founding,” said priceline.com president and CEO Jeffery H. Boyd. “During his tenure, he has led his team in the development and expansion of the technological infrastructure that has served millions of customers and thousands of supplier/partners. We thank him for his contributions and wish him the best in his new position.”

Mr. Diliberto also is one of priceline.com’s longest tenured employees and is an Internet industry veteran. He joined priceline.com in 1998 as senior vice president, Information Technology, and was promoted to chief software architect in 1999. Before joining priceline.com, he held several senior information technology positions at Prodigy Services Company and was vice president of Content Engineering of News Internet Services at News Corporation.

“Working closely with Ron, Mike Diliberto has led the development and evolution of priceline.com’s service delivery and management software since virtually the beginning of our business,” said Mr. Soder. “He has an extensive knowledge of priceline.com’s technological infrastructure and has led or worked with all of priceline.com’s information technology teams. Mike is well-suited to his new position and we expect his positive impact will be felt immediately. I look forward to working with Mike in his new role.”
