Beginning April 12, travel agents will no longer need to return unused ticket stock to ARC, saving on the expense of shipping for returns. The new policy will allow the agents to destroy unused surplus themselves after faxing an affidavit to ARC.

โ€œWe are continually reviewing our processes and adapting them to reflect current trends in the industry. With less than 1 percent of ARC sales coming from paper tickets, we feel that this change provides adequate controls for ticket stock while also helping agencies to save time and money,โ€ said Lauri Reishus, general manager, industry products and services.

The process for accounting and destroying unused ticket stock is now as follows: to prepare the โ€œAffidavit for Accountable Traffic Document Destruction,โ€ download form 116. Complete the form electronically, prepare the affidavit, and proofread the stock control numbers to ensure accuracy. If you are destroying large quantities of stock and the inventory will not fit on one page, use additional forms as necessary. Fax the completed form to ARC at 703-341-1228. Once the completed Affidavit for Accountable Traffic Document Destruction has been faxed to ARC, destroy the documents listed on the form per the ARC destruction guidelines, Section 3.6, page 22 of the Industry Agentsโ€™ Handbook.
