Beirut – Divers from the Lebanese army on Sunday retrieved the flight data recorders of the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing that crashed into the sea off the coast of Lebanon two weeks ago.

An army source told the German Press Agency dpa that the so called black boxes were found early Sunday and would be taken to a military base at Jounieh, 20 kilometres north of Beirut, before being handed over to the airline.

The Boeing 737-800 with 90 people on board went down four minutes after take-off from Beirut international airport, amid stormy weather on January 25. There were no survivors.
