The future of financially troubled Highland Airways now appears to be secure.
The Inverness-based firm, which employs about 100 people, had put restrictions on its bookings while talks were held to secure new investment.
However, the firm are now able to offer flights for the whole of February and say they shortly expect to offer flights for March and beyond again.
The airline said discussions with a potential new partner were going well.
The airline operates lifeline routes between the mainland, the Western Isles, Coll, Tiree and Colonsay, as well as services between Cardiff and Anglesey in Wales.
‘Very promising’
It is also responsible for Scotland’s aerial fisheries protection service.
In a statement, Highland Airways said: “The company is making good progress in its discussions with a potential new partner who will bring strong synergies and new opportunities to the business.
“This development presents the airline with a very promising and timely means to address current difficulties.”
It added: “The motivation of the board throughout has been to secure the delivery of the valued services that we offer and also to secure the employment of our highly skilled workforce in Scotland, Wales and the rest of the UK.”
