The Seychelles Tourism Board will be holding its annual marketing meeting next week, from Monday, November 21 to Wednesday, November 23, 2011.

This highly important meeting will convene at Le Meridien Barbarons Hotel of Mahe for all three days and will be held under the banner “Raising Seychelles’ Profile: Seizing Every Opportunity.”

The marketing meeting will be launched with an opening ceremony on Monday morning, starting at 8:30 am with the opening addressed of the Seychelles Tourism Board CEO, Alain St.Ange, and the Tourism Boardโ€™s Chairman, Barry Faure, respectively.

The directors and managers from all Seychelles Tourist Offices overseas will be present at this important gathering along with the local marketing staff, and for the first time they will be joined by a delegation of eight from the Reunion Island Tourism (IRT). The eight member delegation will be headed by the President de la Region of Reunion, Mr. Didier Robert, who personally holds the portfolio for the islandโ€™s tourism, and will consist of Pascal Viroleau, the head of IRT, accompanied by the IRT marketing managers.

Mr. Pascal Viroleau of La Reunion will also be making an address at the opening ceremony of the marketing meeting.

The Seychelles Tourism Board marketing meeting is this year being held jointly with the La Reunion Island Tourism due to the Vanilla Islands concept and based on the desire for La Reunion and the Seychelles to better cooperate in the field of twin-center marketing. The meeting will enable both islands to highlight their unique selling points.

This three-day meeting will primarily be the opportunity for the Seychelles Tourism Board to report to the local tourism entrepreneurs and assess its 2011 marketing activities, as well as to table its marketing strategies, plans, and programs for 2012.

This meeting will also be the opportunity for the overseas managers to discuss and share their experiences with the locally-based members of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
