MACAO – Macao recorded a total number of 368,615 tourist arrivals during this year’s Christmas holidays, according to the figures released on Monday by the Immigration Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The figures showed that the number of tourist arrivals for this year’s Christmas holidays, lasting from Dec. 24 to 27, was 0.73 percent less than the same period of last year.

During the period, some 1.36 million visitors crossed Macao’s seven immigration checkpoints, with the total visitor arrival standing at 686,345 while departure reaching 669,998, according to the Immigration Department.

Macao’s Border-gate checkpoint, which links the SAR with the Chinese mainland, logged the largest number of border movements, with arrivals and departures standing at 469,671 and 472,791 respectively, according to the Department.
