United Airlines cancels Saturday flights at several east coast airports

As a result of the significant snowfall expected along the eastern seaboard, United Airlines is proactively canceling scheduled flights on Saturday, December 19, at several east coast airports. United also anticipates departure delays on trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific flights scheduled to arrive at Washington Dulles.

United strongly encourages all customers to verify the status of their flights at united.com or via United reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 before going to the airport.

Additionally, United urges travelers flying to, from, or through the mid-Atlantic and northeast to take advantage of the airline’s travel waiver, as certain change fees have been waived for them.

Customers may make changes to their itineraries via united.com or by calling United reservations or their travel agencies. All changes must be made by midnight of the customer’s original travel date. Rescheduled travel may be subject to higher fares if it does not meet original rule and booking-code restrictions or is a new itinerary.

The revised ticketing policies apply to all tickets purchased December 18, 2009 or earlier, for travel December 18-20, to, from, and through Connecticut, DC, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia on any United, United Express, or United code-share flight. Origin and destination cities must remain the same, and rescheduled travel must be completed within seven days of original travel date.

Customers with canceled flights are eligible for a full refund.
