Kathy Kuhn was travelling from Detroit, Michigan to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007 with Northwest Airlines and was assigned a seat in the middle row.

Whilst trying to get into her seat, Ms Kuhn claims she injured her knee on an armrest which refused to lift.

The injury meant that she had to use crutches for her holiday in Las Vegas.

The lawsuit has been moved from State Court to Federal Court.

Northwest Airlines, now fully merged with Delta Air Lines, has denied the charges.
