According to AP, the accident happened on Monday afternoon near Hawaiiโ€™s largest mall.

58-year-old man was standing in the trolley and not holding on to anything. Investigators say he fell when the trolley turned.

After being treated by paramedics at the scene the injured visitor was taken to The Queenโ€™s Medical Center.

LATEST UPDATE: Japanese tourist who fell off a trolley near Ala Moana shopping center died in Honolulu hospital. He was pronounced dead late Monday. His name was not released, pending notification of family members. Honolulu police spokeswoman Caroline Sluyter said that the tourist died from injuries sustained from falling, but was not hit by a car.
