Brussels hosts Brosella Festival 2019 on July 13 and 14
Brussels’ 43rd Brosella Festival takes place 13 and 14 July in the Osseghem Park in Laeken. The longest existing festival of Brussels gives its name and logo a new look, but it still offers a great variety of authentic and surprising music. Traditional folk, world music and several combinations, classic jazz and world jazz, groove or electro-jazz: there’s something it in for all styles and all ages!
The programme of Saturday 13 July proves that there is no such thing as one type of folk music, but many varieties spread across the whole world, illustrated by these two examples: Refugees for Refugees and the group Danças Ocultas who will be accompanied by cellist and singer Dom La Nena. Jazz music is also well represented this year. The programme of Sunday 14 July includes a colourful mix of classic varieties, groovy, hip-hop, electro-influences and a couple of combinations including Stéphane Kerecki and his interpretation of French Touch, the super group Perez, Cohen, Potter or Paolo Fresu and Lars Danielsson.
Like during the edition of 2018, the relaxing spots in the shadow of the trees will be the perfect place for those who want to enjoy poetry. Several international poets including Elke Derijcke, Manza, Kader Sevinç, Mathieu
D’angelo (Maky), Anne Penders and Adolfo Barbera will present their dreams, beauty or intimate reflections.
Let’s not forget the Kids Village, which is once again included in the Brosella Festial programme, to the delight of both kids and parents! Furthermore our kids will be able to enjoy the African sounds of Duo Seco on Saturday, whereas the devilish jazz of KidsSwing will make them dance and shake on Sunday. The Fanfare des oies will also be present!
