Sovereign Military Order of Malta presents Seychelles with Creole-Italian dictionaries

The Seychelles Tourism Board is among the various government ministries and educational institutions of Seychelles to receive copies of the first-ever Italian-Creole/Creole-Italian dictionary from Mrs. Alexandra Azaïs, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Mrs. Alexandra Azaïs had also officially presented the Seychelles’ Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, and Mr. Barry Faure, the Seychelles Secretary of State, who is also the Chairman of the Seychelles Tourism Board with copies of the dictionary in a ceremony that was held on Monday, September 21, 2011.

The publication of this bilingual dictionary has been made possible thanks to the late Ambassador Graziano Luigi Triboldi, who represented Seychelles in Saint Siège and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mrs. Alexandra Azaïs has said that Mr. Triboldi has contributed a lot of efforts and resources towards the social and cultural development of Seychelles. She added that this dictionary, which has been successfully completed with the assistance of Mr. Giancarlo Lauro, is one of the many initiatives that had been undertaken by Mr. Triboldi during his time as an Ambassador for Seychelles.

Mr. Lauro has been able to complete this dictionary due to Mr. Triboldi’s knowledge in the two languages, which he had developed during his time spent in Seychelles.

The Seychelles Tourism Board has received copies of the book as a result of Mr. Triboldi’s widow, Daniela Triboldi, who wanted some 5,000 copies of the dictionary distributed in Seychelles to various government agencies and schools.

Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, was presented the Creole-Italian Dictionaries by Mrs. Alexandra Azaïs in the presence of Elsia Grandcourt, the Deputy CEO of the Tourism Board, at a small ceremony at the residence of the Chargé d’Affaires of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
