International LGBTQ+ Travel Association welcomes new board chair

The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association’s board of directors named Jon Muñoz, Vice President, Global Diversity and Inclusion for Hilton, as its new board chair during its recent meeting in New York City. Muñoz leads Hilton’s diversity management strategies focused on culture, talent and marketplace.

“For over 36 years IGLTA has been the authority for LGBTQ+ travel and tourism. I’m humbled and honored to take on a leadership role within this important global organization,” said Muñoz. “LGBTQ+ travel and tourism represents significant social and economic impact around the world and I’m excited to advocate for LGBTQ+ travel related businesses and the diverse consumers they serve.”

Muñoz is joined on the board’s executive committee by Vice Chair Don Skeoch, Chief Marketing Officer, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board; Treasurer Felipe Cardenas, Co-Founder/CEO, Colombian LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce; and Secretary Shiho Ikeuchi, President/CEO, Pink Soleil. Juan Juliá, Founder, Axel Hotels, who led the organization for three years, remains on the board as Immediate Past Chair.

The 14-member board also includes: Apoorva Gandhi, Vice President, Multicultural Affairs, Marriott International; Albert Herrera, Senior Vice President, Global Product Partnerships, Virtuoso; Uwern Jong, Editor in Chief, OutThere magazine; Richard Krieger, President, PrideWorld Travel; Steven Larkin, Director of Sales Canada, Delta Air Lines; Oriol Pamies, Founder, Queer Destinations; Sandi Robinson, Director of Sales, The Godfrey Hotel Chicago; Maria Tuttocuore, Senior Executive – Sales & Marketing, Leisure, Monaco Government Tourist Office; and John Tanzella, IGLTA President/CEO (ex officio).
