The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a travel advisory for the territory and airspace of Venezuela due to increasing political instability and tensions in Venezuela and the associated potential risks to flight operations.

This notice applies to all US air carriers and commercial operators. The Notam does not prohibit persons from conducting flight operations in Venezuela if operations has been authorized by another agency of the US government or with approval of the FAA.

Persons in Venezuela’s airspace from the time of this Notam have 48 hours to determine if their operations can be conducted safely. If an emergency that requires immediate decision and action for the safety of the flight occurs, the pilot in command of the aircraft may deviate from this Notam to the extent required by that emergency.
