Centel Announces all-times high and annual cash dividend

Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited (“CENTEL”) (SET: CENTEL) today announced that the shareholders in their AGM 1/2562 have passed the resolution of an annual cash dividend on the company common stock of Baht 0.65 per share. The dividend is payable on 24 May 2019, to the shareholder of record at the close of business on 7 May 2019.

For 2018, CENTEL achieved total revenues of Baht 21,768.2 million, an increase of 7.0% YoY, with achieved EBITDA of Baht 4,966.4 million or equal to an increase of 5.6% YoY. This was due to the continuing growth for both the hotel business and the food business; whereby achieved the highest record of net profit of Baht 2,177.5 million, equal to an increase of 9.4% YoY.

The Company is one of the leading Thai hotel operators with a strong establishment in Thailand and expanding more in overseas.   As of 31 March 2019, The Company has 39 hotels with 7,563 rooms in operation in Thailand, Maldives, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Oman.  In addition, there are 29 hotels with 5,914 rooms under construction in Thailand and overseas which target opening dates are from 2019 to 2022.  Of 29 hotels in the pipeline, 2 hotels are owned investment under Cosi brand, two 4-star hotels in the Maldives and one 4-star joint venture hotel in Dubai and other 24 hotels are under management contracts. Most of the managed hotels in pipeline locate in overseas where locate in AEC, Middle East, and Indian Ocean countries.

Apart from the hotel business, The Company is also a leading quick service restaurant operator in Thailand.  The Company operated international brands including KFC, Mister Donut, Auntie Anne’s, Ootoya, Pepper Lunch, Cold Stone, Chabuton, Yoshinoya, Tenya, Katsuya and one owned brand, The Terrace.  The Company owned a total of 1,003 outlets in Thailand at the end of March 2019.
