Korean Air has announced that ten aircraft will display a special emblem and slogan to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.
The special aircraft livery will depict the number 50 with a plane flying over it alongside the slogan โBeyond 50 Years of Excellenceโ. The number 50 symbolizes Korean Airโs 50th anniversary and features a stylized taegeuk design. Taegeuk is the iconic mark of the Korean Flag.
The slogan โBeyond 50 Years of Excellenceโ emphasizes Korean Airโs contributions during the last 50 years to Koreaโs airline industry, and also highlights the national carrierโs ambitions to make the next 50 years even better for the company. Employees of Korean Air took part in the design and selection process of the emblem and slogan.
Korean Air will operate a total of ten aircraft with the special livery, two of each of the following aircraft types: A380-800, B787-9, B777-300ER and A220-300, as well as a B737-8 MAX later this year.
Korean Airโs B777-300ER from Incheon to San Francisco was the first plane with the special livery to take to the sky on February 14. The other 50th anniversary-themed aircraft will be added to various global networks of Korean Air, as well as domestic routes, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Korean Air on March 1. The emblem and slogan will be on the side of the ten planes until the end of 2019.
