Reunion Island welcomed last week the cruise ships Queen Elizabeth and THE WORLD. It was Azeddine Bouali, the Head of Reunion Cruise handling, who was present to ensure the smooth welcome and operation of the large number of passengers.

Ile Reunion Tourism and the other regional tourism offices were all on hand to ensure a decentralised approach to better suit the large number of cruise ship passengers. Reunion Island like the other member state of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands has seen a large increase of cruise ships at their ports. Pascal Viroleau, the CEO of the Vanilla islands has been saying that the increase of cruise ship business is a regional success story.

Didier Robert, the President of the Region Reunion has been leading the drive in marketing of the Vanilla Islands for Cruise Ship business. He believes that the stop by cruise ship passengers is a sure way to have the same passengers back for a holiday if they enjoy their first taste of the island.
