The International Society of Hotel Associations (ISHA) elected its 2019 Board of Directors recently at its annual meeting in Denver, Colorado, at the Le Meridien Denver Downtown. The 2019 ISHA Board Chairperson will be Eric Terry, President, Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association.

Additionally, elected ISHA Board Officers for 2019 include:

-Mindy Hanan, President & CEO, Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association (1st Vice Chair)
-Paul Sacco, President & CEO, Massachusetts Lodging Association (2nd Vice Chair)
-Lynn Minges, President & CEO, North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association (Treasurer/Secretary)
-Jennifer Flohr, Senior Vice President, California Hotel & Lodging Association (Immediate Past Chair).

โ€œISHA membership is becoming more valuable to each state hospitality and lodging association as we continue to face many of the same issues,โ€ said incoming Board Chair Eric Terry. โ€œIt is a great resource that allows us to connect with our sister associations across the country on important issues such as membership and government affairs. I am excited for this opportunity to work closer with my colleagues as the 2019 Board Chair.โ€

In addition, members at large elected to the ISHA Board of Directors included Alicia Maltby, Executive Director, Alaska Hotel & Lodging Association; Dannette Lynch, Director of Membership, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association; Scott Joslove, President & CEO, Texas Hotel & Lodging Association; and Kim Sabow, President & CEO, Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association.

โ€œISHA is honored to have such an accomplished group guide our association in 2019,โ€ stated Christina Pappas, Executive Director of ISHA. โ€œUnder the leadership of the Board of Directors, the entire membership is well positioned for another successful year.โ€

ISHA serves as a centralized conduit of information that supports its membersโ€™ efforts, particularly where state and local advocacy is concerned. โ€œWe have the collective voice that we use when we talk to AH&LA and AAHOA on national issues. Additionally, ISHA can link our members who need assistance dealing with a particular advocacy issue together with other member hotel and lodging associations that have successfully dealt with similar advocacy or regulatory problems,โ€ said continued Pappas.

The International Society of Hotel Associationsโ€™ industry partners include AH&LA, AAHOA, ARDA, AH&LEF, United Health Group, Best Western, IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Fisher Phillips, Heartland, ServSafe and STR.
