Mexico earned 1.427 billion U.S. dollars from international tourism in October, a 15.1-percent increase year-on-year, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography said on Friday.
The number of international tourists in the month hit 3,094,280, up 2.8 percent year-on-year.
The entry of foreign currency into Mexico from tourism could grow 7 percent in 2018 in comparison to the 21.3 billion U.S. dollars registered last year, according to official forecasts.
In 2017, Mexico became the sixth most visited country in the world, moving up from the 15th place in 2012, according to data from the World Tourism Organization.
