Professional Maltese MMA Fighter, Marilyn Micallef, will be carrying the Maltese Flag on December 7, 2018, for the first time in Maltese history in an MMA professional competition of this level.
On Saturday, November 17, 2018, TKO MMA announced that Marilyn Micallef, Maltese undefeated female flyweight (2-0-0, 2 sub), has been signed to a multi-fight contract. Her first TKO MMA fight will be on December 7, 2018, against the undefeated Jade Masson-Wong (2-0-0) at TKO 45 at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Canada.
Marilyn Micallef has competed at the semi-pro level in the UK, making her professional debut in Malta at Centurion Fighting Championship Malta (CFCM). After her recent successes, TKO MMA reached out to Marilyn to take part in TKO45. With the help and support of CFCM, she was offered a multi-fight contract and will now appear in multiple fights for TKO MMA.
Since this competition falls under the UFC America cap, this experience will open doors for Maltese athletes, putting them a step closer to raise the Maltese flag in the UFC.
