Benchmark names Executive Chef for new hotel and convention center

Benchmark has appointed Stuart Race executive chef for Delta Hotels – Marriott Dallas Allen & Watters Creek Convention Center, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property currently under construction in the city of Allen, Texas, north of Dallas. The full-service hotel and convention center will open in January of next year. Stacy T. Martin, managing director, made the announcement.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Stuart to our hotel and convention center,” said Ms. Martin. “He brings exceptional experience and success across several properties to his new position. We look forward to his leadership of our culinary team.”

Stuart Race comes to his new position with extensive experience with large meeting and event properties. He was previously executive chef for the Sheraton Dallas Hotel and Convention Center. Chef Race has also served as executive chef for the Phoenix Convention Center, the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers and the Westin Galleria Dallas.

Mr. Race is a recipient of the City and Guilds of London Institute Chefs Certificate. Several properties that Chef Race has been executive chef of have received Hotel Restaurant of the Year awards. A dual citizen of the United States and Australia, where he began his culinary career, Mr. Race is a Green Belt, Six Sigma. He resides in Dallas.
