Two Seychelles’ hotels – Denis Island and Frégate Island Private – are among the top hotels nominated for the prominent international Villegiature Awards, in the Grand Prix category of the Best Island Hotels for 2011.
The Villegiature Awards were created in 2003, with a voting jury comprising 21 major journalists from well-recognized medias all over the world. The awards reward the “best” of the best hotels in Europe and Africa, as well as in the category of islands.
Not only are Denis Island and Frégate Island Private lined up for the same award, but they also face other finalists in that category, namely Ratua Private Island of Vanuatu, Beau Rivage Resort & Villas in Mauritius, Luna 2 of Indonesia, and Bon Ton Resort in Malaysia.
The grand winners of the different awards will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony on November 14, 2011 at l’Hôtel Hilton Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has said that it is comforting to see two Seychelles Hotels nominated for this award. “It only means that our accommodation network is today rated amongst the best in the world,” Alain St.Ange said after he was informed of these two nominations.
