Weddings: An industry without crisis

Making a wedding, the most beautiful day of life, has turned into the most expensive one, despite separations and divorces being on the increase. Only in Italy, in 2014 – (according to the latest ISTAT data), the marriages market rose to 5.2 billion euros with an average expenditure of 28,000 euros each. Worldwide, the turnover is not far from 300 billion dollars a year.

Among the Italian regions, Campania (Naples, the capital of the province) holds the record of events at the national level, while Tuscany is among the most chosen regions by foreigners as the location of their wedding. In 2015, 32 percent of the 7,000 foreign couples who celebrated the ceremony in Italy chose precisely the region of the center.

The fashion of the locations has moved towards Salento (Puglia) thanks to the chosen destination with a film set and some millionaire weddings originating from the US and India.

Congress and seminars dedicated to the wedding industry

The fourth edition for Buy Wedding in Italy is an event dedicated to โ€œDestination Wedding,โ€ with guests, foreign and Italian buyers, meetings, and seminars, as well as a conference, exhibition area, marketing services, B2B Platform of Communication and Marketing, and multichannel services.

The 2018 edition will be held on November 13th and 14th, at Palazzo Isolani in Bologna: two days of meetings and seminars dedicated exclusively to operators in the sector.

About twenty speakers, all with excellence in their fields of belonging, will alternate in the 2 days of seminars where the talk will be about territorial marketing, product, and fashions in the world related to the wedding and weddings for the various populations who choose Italy as a wedding destination, as well as the disclosure of all their secrets.

Among the topics that will be discussed: Relations and opportunities with institutions and the territory; News and trends – The artisans, the Destination Wedding; and Economic Scenarios and Industry Analysis-Talk Show: Religious, Catholic, Hebrew, Orthodox Marriage and the necessary documents. The 2-day program of works on the BWI 2018 is already available on the website as anticipated at the press conference held in Rome at ENIT headquarters.

The director of CST Firenze, Alessandro Tortelli, member of the scientific committee of the event, will speak at the event on November 13 on the theme “Understanding the Destination Wedding phenomenon in Italy through the Observatory” and in the afternoon he will participate in the talk show.

Exotic Wedding Planning Conference 2019

Arezzo will host the Exotic Wedding Planning Conference (EWPC) in 2019. After Dubai, Goa, and Barcelona, Arezzo (in the Tuscany region), will be the European headquarters of the fourth edition of the (EWPC), among the most quoted international events in this segment.

The choice of the Tuscan city is the result of an important agreement reached by the Arezzo Intour Foundation with Exito Media Concepts Private Ltd., an Indian company from Bangalore that has created a network and builds relationships in the wedding industry.

The event will take place from June 2-4, 2019 and will bring together the most popular wedding planners from 50 countries around the world.

The 3-day event, organized in collaboration with the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation and the Municipality and the Arezzo Chamber of Commerce, will be an opportunity to present Arezzowedding, the branch of the newborn DMO (Destination Marketing Organization), which will gather and propose the services of those working in tourism in the territory.

โ€œThere are more and more foreigners who choose Italy and Tuscany for the fateful,โ€ explained Marcello Comanducci, President of the Arezzo Intour Foundation and Tourism Councilor of the Municipality of Arezzo.

โ€œ[It is] a business in continuous growth that records important numbers also in terms of attendance. 36% of foreigners who get married in Italy choose Tuscany and that is why, within the Intour Foundation, we have set up a business unit that will coordinate the wedding professionals to enter in a professional and well-structured market.”

The Exotic Wedding Planning Conference, according to Comanducci, “represents a unique opportunity to present our city and this sector. We are not the ones who move to propose Arezzo in the various events dedicated to the sector, but it is the wedding planners from all over Europe who come to us. It was not easy to support the candidacy of our city compared to that proposed by other European cities. But thanks to a tight job, we managed to bring this meeting home. In fact, this is one of the first great goals achieved by the Arezzo Intour Foundation.โ€
