Sedona, Arizona is one of the most scenic tourist destinations in the West. The Arabella Hotel surrounded by desert vistas undergoes a $4 million property-wide renovation. Originally built as the Sedona Lodge in the 1940s, the structure was the very first hotel in town constructed to accommodate Old Hollywood directors, actors and crews, including the legendary John Wayne.

Later transformed into the King’s Ransom Hotel, the property enjoyed further fame in the 1960s when Elvis Presley and Hollywood came knocking again.

The famed historical site makeover includes remodeled guest rooms, hotel lobby, all building exteriors, complete landscaping throughout and newly designed outdoor public spaces including the main pool and the adjacent relaxation gardens, as well as, the newly added Sunset Vista lounge area.

In January 2014, the 144-room hotel entered a new era when it was sold and changed ownership hands. “The new ownership group is very committed to transforming the property into a first-class wellness destination, a place where you get a complete resort experience,” said hotel General Manager, Julia Kaiser.

Spearheading the project was K2 Design, a Phoenix based interior design firm. Drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings and Sedona Red Rocks the design concepts celebrate the rich colors originating from the local environment. The spacious guest rooms, while delivering on comfort and charm, intentionally reveal a feeling of the outdoors.

“Our vision is to really create a hotel for the sense by bringing in special touches through music, art, adventure, relaxation, star gazing, the culinary arts and most importantly adventure,” said hotel General Manager, Julia Kaiser. “To bring a renewed energy to this locally treasured historical hotel site, while delivering personalized service and exclusive experiences.”

The highly anticipated 500 sq. ft. Bike Pavilion was also recently completed. The site is fully equipped withย a Bike Fixation Wash and Fill Station,ย a Bike Fixation Deluxe Work Stand, andย a Bike Fixation Outdoor Bike Pump with Gauge, and was designed for mountain bike and road bike enthusiasts of all levels.

“In conjunction with the property renovation, the hotel is also refreshing our brand. We want to redefine ourselves as an Eco-Travel destination, a place for both adventure and relaxationโ€ฆor as we like to say Experience Nature. Discover Yourself,” said Julia Kaiser, hotel General Manager.
