China Daily newspaper features spread on Seychelles carnival of carnivals

The Seychelles Tourist Office in China and the island’s Director for Asia & Australasia Myrna Michel have said that a carnival report that has been published in the “China Daily” Newspaper comes at the most appropriate time.

“Last week Seychelles won an award at the ADEX Dive Show in Singapore as the ‘Best Overall Travel Experience’ Destination. Today, Seychelles is being perceived as the ‘it’ destination in Asia and in Australasia. We have as our official publication for SUBIOS, the Seychelles Festival of the Sea, which will be held from November 2 this year, the Asian Geographic Magazine and their group of publications. Everything is happening together, and we are all so happy,” said Myrna Michel from Singapore.

In the China Daily article, which enjoys a massive distribution across China, the people of China are treated to a full page on the 2011 Seychelles carnival. A delegation from China made up of acrobats traveled to Seychelles for the unique carnival of carnivals, and the people of China are now able to read about the island’s carnival and also about the beauty of the Seychelles.

Seychelles has been working hard to break into this big and important market. President James Michel of the Seychelles has personally traveled to China to consolidate the friendly relations that exists between China and the Seychelles. The Chinese President has himself visited the Seychelles, and his visit was followed by visits by many important and prominent Chinese digniteries.

Last month, Chinese Navy ships used Port Victoria in the Seychelles as the port for crew rest from their fight against the plague of piracy off the coast of Africa.

Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has welcomed the report on Seychelles and on the island’s carnival of carnivals. “We have started preparations for the 2012 edition if the Seychelles ‘Carnaval International de Victoria,’ and we are already seeing once again the interest by so many countries to be in Seychelles to showcase their own country’s culture and people. Seychelles remains, but the host country as this carnival is for the Community of Nations; it is for the world to parade alongside the best carnivals that exists,” said Alain St.Ange.
