Tourism awards for Seychelles keep rolling in

All is working well for the Seychelles tourism industry, which only weeks ago pulled the the “Best Promising Destination” Award in India, which was followed but a week ago in Singapore when they won the “Best Overall Travel Experience Award” from Asia & Australasia. Last night in Dubai, Seychelles pulled the “Most Supportive National Tourist Office Award” for Middle East, Africa, and the Indian Ocean from Emirates Holidays at a Gala Evening at the World famous Atlantis Dubai in the presence of some 700 plus tourism industry professionals.

Seychelles is a destination that is today earning respect and recognition from far and wide. Things have changed since the Seychelles President Mr. James Michel personally took over the the portfolio for tourism in his government to be able to bring in a new vision for the island’s tourism industry. President Michel launched his “Seychelles brand” of tourism, and he brought on board Alain St.Ange, the respected Seychelles tourism personality, to head the Seychelles Tourism Board.

Since then, a new Tourism Master Plan is being drafted, Seychelles staged a very succesful carnival of carnivals for the world to use to showcase their own culture and people alongside the best carnivals of the world, their visitor arrival numbers peaked last year with a new record, and this year figures are so far exceeding all expectations.

Speaking to the press after receiving the award in Dubai, Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, spoke about his joy on behalf of Seychelles. “We are truly honored to be receiving this award. We work hard to be the serious partners to all those promoting our unique islands. Emirates have tonight done us proud, and we thank them,” Alain St.Ange said.
