Discovery Cruise Line, the largest tour operator between South Florida and Grand Bahama Island, announced its lowest fare EVER. For bookings between September 8 through September 30 and travel between October 1 and January 31, the price of a Fun Day cruise is from only US$19.99 per person, and the price of a two-day, one-night Cruise and Stay Vacation package is from only US$39.99 per person. Surcharges of US$39 per person apply to all passengers and these special rates are for Florida Residents only. A limited number of these cruises per sailing are available, so passengers should sign up now.

Hanns J. Hahn, the general manager of Discovery, said: “We want to provide a stimulus for what is traditionally a slow fall season, and the best way to accomplish that is through price reductions. These are the lowest published rates we have ever offered, and they provide an opportunity for Florida residents to spend an enjoyable day, or several days, in Grand Bahama and experience our wonderful Bahamian neighbors and their exciting culture. These low rates will be available for every departure through January 31, 2010.”

Discovery sails every day except Wednesdays from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island, departing at 7:45 am and returning at 10:00 pm. Discovery offers same-day, round-trip cruises, as well as cruise-and-stay vacation packages, including all-inclusive and island-inclusive packages, at a wide selection of hotels from budget to deluxe, including Pelican Bay at Lucaya, Our Lucaya Reef Village, Taino Beach Resort & Clubs, Viva Wyndham Fortuna (all-inclusive), and Radisson Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort.

On Grand Bahama, visitors experience an entirely different culture, extraordinary beaches, interesting excursions, and brand-new adventures. Activities include snorkeling, caves, kayaking, fishing, diving, golf, eco-adventures, duty-free shopping, Swim with the Dolphins, a strawmarket, and many other tourist attractions.
