Hawaii tsunami advisory cancelled


HONOLULU, Hawaii – At 7:34am the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center canceled the tsunami advisory for the state of Hawaii. Tsunami wave heights across the state are now below advisory levels and are continuing to diminish. Small sea level changes and strong or unusual currents may persist for several additional hours in some coastal areas. Appropriate caution should be exercised by boaters and swimmers.

Regarding reported closures throughout the state:

• Maui County beach parks were opened at 8 a.m.
• Hanauma Bay on Oahu remains closed
