The Seychelles Tourist Office reopened its UK operations in June 2009 after having closed its London Office for a period of time. Fiona Lane was appointed to reestablish the Seychelles Office and help reposition the tropical islands in one of its main traditional markets.
Now almost two years after setting up the UK Seychelles Tourist Office, Fiona Lane, Regional Manager, will be leaving to take up new challenges. Fiona arrived at the Seychelles Tourism Board with over 25 years’ experience in the industry, having worked in Seychelles-based destination management companies, hotels, and various tourism-related services.
In her two years at the head of the Seychelles Tourist Office in the UK, Fiona Lane has been able, with the help of her all Seychellois team, to redress the UK and Scandinavian markets and bring arrival numbers from these traditional markets into positive figures when compared to previous years.
At the last Seychelles marketing meeting for its managers, Fiona Lane said that she was happy to report a positive and consistent growth in both her markets.
The Seychelles Tourism Board has taken the decision to reposition Marsha Parcou who is currently heading its Tourism Board Pretoria and Johannesburg office. Marsha Parcou comes to the UK Seychelles Office with a wealth of experience having been previously the Marketing Executive at Head Office in the Seychelles responsible for the UK and Scandinavian accounts. Marsha Parcou is also from the first succesful recruits of the Seychelles Young Leaders Program.
Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and eTurboNews Ambassador, and Bernadette Willemin, the Seychelles European Director, were both in the UK this week to hold staff meetings and to prepare for a smooth handover from Fiona Lane. UK and Scandanavian tour operators and the press have been duly informed of the changes taking place at the Seychelles UK Office.
