Russia set to attend 2011 Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria with largest float

Russia continues to demonstrate their close ties and traditional solidarity with Seychelles having now accepted the invitation to attend the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria,” due to be held in Victoria between March 4-6, 2011.

A special visit by a Russian warship is also being planned to coincide with the carnival, which promises to provide 3 days of solid entertainment in the form of live international musical performances, food stalls featuring a wide range of international cuisines, a procession of more than 50 carnival floats, an all-night party, and a family-fun day.

Russia is expected to contribute with the largest carnival float planned so far, involving the participation of well over 300 people. A music group will be arriving in Seychelles to join the Russian Marines for their parade flying the Russian Flag in the floats procession at the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria.”

The list of countries arriving in Seychelles continues to grow with several countries having senior government members heading their respective delegations. The official opening of the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria” will be held in Victoria on the afternoon of the March 4.
