Best Western International held the grand opening ceremony of its first hotel in Laos, the Best Western Vientiane Hotel in the capital city of Vientiane.
Vice-President of the Laos National Tourism Authority, Mr. Soukaseum Photisan, and Vice Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Boonthavee Sisouohanthong, were among the VIP guests at the event, along with Best Western executives, press and members of Laos’ tourism industry.
Enjoying a peaceful setting next to the Mekong River on Francois Ngin Road, the 44- room hotel has been welcoming guests since it opened its doors in early 2010. The hotel is ideal for those seeking a charming environment while also being close to the city’s business and commercial areas, markets, restaurants and attractions.
Best Western Vientiane Hotel is a key member of the Best Western family. It saw the addition of Laos to the chain’s ever growing portfolio of hotels and resorts throughout Asia and the Middle East, which now numbers 166 in operation, in the process of rebranding and under construction. The goal is to have 300 properties offering 60,000 rooms by the year 2015.
Best Western sees Laos as an extremely attractive tourism destination, a country of vast unspoiled nature and exceptional culture. And with Best Western Vientiane Hotel, the chain has brought its international expertise and vast resources in hotel management, staff training and promotional power to the country’s accommodation sector and tourism industry in general.
“Best Western Vientiane Hotel represents a proud milestone for Best Western on multiple fronts. While we gained yet another wonderful hotel and indeed the destination of Laos, it has also provided us the opportunity to give back to this fascinating country and its people by creating jobs and bringing to bear our global booking and sales and marketing networks, to help take Laos’ tourism message to the world” said Best Western International’s Vice President of International Operations – Asia and the Middle East, Glenn de Souza.
