Three Seychelles Hotels namely – Johnette Labiche, the Area Director for Sales & Marketing for Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino; Bessie Etienne, the Sales & Contracting Manager for Denis Private Island; and Devi Pentamah the Sales Manager of Hilton Seychelles’ Northolme Resort & Spa, will also be travelling to Cannes in France to support the efforts of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
The cold spell hitting Europe makes Seychelles with its perpetual summer climate the ideal dream holiday for Europeans, and the Seychelles delegation moving to Cannes in France will be united in selling this message to all. The Creole Islands of the Seychelles are blessed with a year-round summer climate where swimming remains a year-round activity for visitors. Asked by the French press on the best time to visit Seychelles as he was leaving Seychelles for France, Alain St.Ange the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board casually said, “When you have the time, because we are, and we remain the year-round tourism destination with temperatures of 26/27 lapped by a pleasing cool sea breeze.”
Seychelles has had a rebound in its tourism industry, which will see 2010 close with the all-time record in visitor arrival numbers. The importance of tourism for the islands has been re-emphasized by the fact that the President of the Republic, Mr. James Michel, is today personally responsible for the tourism portfolio in this crutial period when the Seychelles was relaunching its tourism industry. The Seychelles has been relooking at their tourism industry to have a style of tourism adapted to the Seychelles. President James Michel launched the “Seychelles brand” of tourism during the middle of 2010 to refocus the tourism industry on the USPs (unique selling points) of the islands. Seychelles is known as having unrivaled swimming in clean and clear turquoise blue seas, world award-winning white sandy beaches, and sun and summer on a year-round basis, but this remains only the base for a pleasing Seychelles holiday, because the islands are truly THE eco-tourism destination with close to 50% of its land mass dedicated to conservation and declared national parks. Sailing, big game fishing, fly fishing, diving, or simply snorkeling, bush walks, bird watching, island hopping, etc. are all USPs of these Creole Tropical Islands from their groups of unique mid-ocean granitic islands and their many coral islands and atolls.
