Tourism remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy and President James Michel of the Seychelles personally holds the tourism portfolio in his government.

Alain St.Ange, the island’s CEO of the Tourism Board and eTurboNews ambassador, said: “Today we are looking at Austria, yesterday it was South Africa, next week it is Tanzania and South America, and by the time a big Seychelles Tourism Delegation heads for the World Travel Market in London, another delegation will be in India to mark the launch of the start of direct airlink by Air Seychelles to Chennai. We are leaving no stones unturned to consolidate the pillar of the Seychelles Islands’ economy. We are now willing, able, and committed to tell the world that we are the holiday destination for 2011.”
