The British High Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs wish to announce that Her Royal Highness Princess Anne will pay an official visit to the Seychelles from November 29 to December 1, 2010.
During her visit, the Princess and Seychelles President Michel are expected to officially open the University of Seychelles. The royal program will also include visits to Praslin and Aldabra to view the Seychelles two UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Her Royal Highness will also meet the Seychelles Coastguard and EUNAVFOR forces in the country. The program is also expected to include a visit to a local children’s home with the Seychelles First Lady.
British High Commissioner Matthew Forbes said: “We are delighted that Princess Anne will be coming to the Seychelles. Together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Seychelles Tourist Board, we are organizing an exciting program that will show Her Royal Highness the real essence of the Seychelles. We also hope that it will allow as many Seychellois as possible to take part and welcome her.”
“The visit of a senior member of the royal family is always a welcomed event, and is indeed reflective of the strong bond that exists between Seychelles and the United Kingdom,” said Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jean-Paul Adam, “I am confident that, given our shared history and all that Seychelles has to offer, the Princess will have a truly memorable trip.”
