EEOC alleges airline biased against disabled workers

The U.S.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued United Airlines for alleged discrimination against a class of employees who became disabled, could not be accommodated in their positions and were rejected by United for vacant jobs for which they were qualified.

The suit seeks monetary damages, a court order requiring United to change its policies and ensuring the class members are reassigned to jobs for which they are qualified.

United officials could not be reached for comment.
