Dozens of passengers say they have been stranded at Los Angeles International Airport for two days because their China Eastern Airlines flight to Shanghai has been delayed by mechanical problems.

According to passengers they were on the plane for several hours Sunday before the pilot canceled the flight. They say they reboarded Monday and sat for an hour before being told to get off again.

Some say they became angry and staged a sit-in in the terminal. Airport police Sgt. Jim Holcomb says officers were called, but no one was arrested.

Calls to a manager at the airline’s local office were not immediately returned. The airline says the flight is scheduled to leave Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
