Hong Kong Airlines today celebrated the launch of its new non-stop service connecting Hong Kong with Moscow. The new seasonal service operates three-times weekly and marks the airline’s entry into Europe.

A celebratory event was held at Hong Kong International Airport to commemorate the launch of the new service. Hong Kong Airlines Vice Chairman Mr Tang King Shing officiated the ceremony, together with Mr Alexander Kozlov, Consul-General of of Consulate General of Russia, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR. Following the event, flight HX2019 departed Hong Kong International Airport on schedule at 1500 and is due to arrive in Moscow Vnukovo International Airport at 2010. Following a brief layover, the return sector will see flight HX2018 take off from Moscow at 0035, before touching back down in Hong Kong at 1515. Hong Kong Airlines Vice Chairman Mr Tang King Shing said: Hong Kong Airlines is proud to be the only Hong Kong based carrier operating a direct service to Moscow. Hong Kong and Russia have enjoyed a strong bilateral partnership as seen in the visa-free arrangements for travel between the two destinations. Our new service will provide more choice and greater convenience as more travellers look to Russia for a holiday getaway.”

Mr. Alexander Kozlov said: “Russia’s ties with Hong Kong has strengthened substantially over recent years, with tourism being a significant economic driver. I’m therefore very pleased to be a part in this ceremony, which celebrates the launch of Hong Kong Airlines’ new passenger service connecting Hong Kong with Moscow.”

Hong Kong Airlines operates flights between Hong Kong and Moscow three-times weekly.
