Three people stabbed in The Hague, attacker shot, arrested by police
Three people have been stabbed in western Dutch city of The Hague, according to local authorities. The suspect was arrested after being shot in the leg by police at the scene.
The incident happened at the Johanna Westerdijkplein in the center of the city at around 3.30pm local time. Police issued a statement on Twitter confirming the suspect had been known to them.
Footage shared by local news site Regio15 shows armed officers rushing towards the scene.
The area has been sealed off and the wounded have been taken to hospital. The extent of victims’ injuries is not yet known, according to local reports.
One witness told De Telegraaf that the attacker entered a cafe and struck the first victim before attacking two others outside the premises.
