“We’ve set ambitious goals for 2018 including additional education programs, networking events at major industry conferences and membership growth – both individual and corporate. Our new board members will be a major part of meeting our goals.”

These were the words of Jim Clapes, Chairman, Executive Board of LGBT MPA, today as the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association (LGBT MPA) announced Derrick M. Johnson, II, Senior Director of Meetings, The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers, and Tony Scurry, President and CEO of 7 Pointe Planning, Inc., have joined the board. They bring years of industry knowledge; educational and strategic expertise, plus a long-time commitment to inclusivity.

Mr. Johnson and Mr. Scurry will provide leadership in education and content development and strategic growth. Mr. Johnson’s experience in custom educational programs and content focused on diversity will provide materials for our membership and our 2018 workshops. Mr. Scurry’s background includes the use of analytics in strategic meeting planning – expertise that will provide LGBT MPA with data to drive more corporate memberships.
