Seven nightlife venues of Barcelona, Spain, have obtained 2 distinctive international safety and acoustic quality seals – the first in the world to obtain the Double Excellence Distinction for Nightlife granted by the International Nightlife Association. Now, locals and tourists have this added peace of mind when enjoying these safe venues.

The distinguished venues are: Pacha Barcelona, Shôko, Bestial, Carpe Diem Lounge Club, Opium Mar, Ice Bar and Agua. All the internationally-distinguished venues have had to overcome a series of requirements imposed by the International Nightlife Association.

Among the safety seal requirements, the venue must have a protocol to prevent sexual harassment, a map indicating the emergency exits at venue’s accesses, have their employees surpass a safety training course which includes a mock armed attack, have one or several cardiac resuscitators, and dispose of a breathalyzer at the exit of the premises.

Regarding the hallmark in terms of acoustics, the main novelty is that the venue must have earplugs for customers as well as available to those workers who are in areas where the acoustic level exceeds 90 dB (A).
