Mexicana AIrlines ceased all flights

Mexico’s transportation secretary says debt-ridden carrier Mexicana de Aviacion is halting all operations.

Juan Francisco Molinar Horcasitas tells reporters the struggling airline will cease all flights and other activity as of midnight Friday.

Mexicana filed for bankruptcy protection in Mexico and the United States on Aug. 2 while seeking to restructure its costs.

It later stopped selling tickets and suspended some flights.
