Mount Cinnamon Resort & Beach Club in Grenada is home to 28 bespoke villas and suites tucked away in a lush hillside above Grand Anse Beach, where guests can enjoy spectacular views over a cerulean blue bay with sights of the Capital of St. George in the distance. Ideally located on this renowned two-mile white sand beach, snorkeling and sunbathing are just a stoneโ€™s throw from your balcony.

Since 2013, the resort has made a formal commitment to be environmentally conscious through Green Globe certification. Mount Cinnamon has honed a green team of committed environmentalists in their own right, who shoulder responsibilities of their individual departments along with environmental sustainability. Green team members are mandated to oversee their department, ensuring that the sustainability management plan is maintained.

The Green Globe journey has been a dynamic one, with a focus on different aspects of sustainability each year. The resort proudly launched a comprehensive recycling program last year, and continues to work with the local recycling company to ensure proper re-use of plastic, glass and cardboard with a goal to reduce waste sent to the landfill by at least 1% each year.

An additional aspect of the Green Globe initiative is community involvement. Since the resortโ€™s inception, it has been committed to supporting the local community and will continue to do so with an emphasis in 2018.

Jonnel Edwards, Environmental Consultant to Mount Cinnamon said, โ€œOur guests appreciate the friendly customer service that is signature to our resort, and we have acknowledged the responsibility to give back to the community. Our efforts involve visits to local childrenโ€™s homes, spending time with the kids, and gifts of basic toiletries, food, and school supplies.โ€

The team intends to make 2018 a major year for community involvement, expanding service to the local population, especially the youth. A community project portfolio has been outlined to include meal programs, gifts of stationery to local schools, structural building maintenance and general repairs to schools in need. Mount Cinnamon also looks forward to partnering with โ€œPack for a Purposeโ€, a program that encourages guestsโ€™ involvement by bringing school supplies and other essentials to provide to the local community.
