Three suicide bombers killed at least 18 people in an attack on a crowded market in Maiduguri, northern Nigeria, on Friday night.

A Borno state police spokesperson said that all of the attackers were believed to be women.

The attack, which also injured 22 people, took place at a fish market outside the state capital.

The state is the worst affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
