Legacy, diversity and innovation – all global hot topics that are reverberating across the meetings and events sector. These issues top the agenda at the highly topical EduMonday at IMEX in Frankfurt this year.

An expanded program of immersive education forms the backbone of EduMonday, a full day of free education taking place the day before IMEX in Frankfurt, on Monday 14 May.

EduMonday, which launched successfully last year, is free to everyone attending IMEX in Frankfurt and offers a packed programme of education in both English and German. The sessions provide insights into event design, future trends and the power of partnerships – a wide range of topics enabling attendees to tailor education to fit their professional development needs.

Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, explains: “We know from attendee feedback that the opportunity for industry insight and inspiration is invaluable. That’s why we reshape our EduMonday programme each year to ensure it remains cutting edge and current – professionals from different sectors and different levels will all discover education that’s timely, powerful and relevant for them. We’ve secured some outstanding speakers from key international organisations – ones that are redefining the way we all do business.”

Attendees from all sectors and levels can explore topics and trends that are truly relevant for them via a number of dedicated events within EduMonday specifically curated for various sectors of the industry. Association professionals from around the world are invited to Association Day and Evening, to share best practice and network. There’s also education and networking for corporate executives at Exclusively Corporate.

Experts from dynamic organisations including Facebook, LinkedIn and EY will be sharing disruptive trends and methods during Exclusively Corporate, with a firm focus on innovation and engagement. The importance of powerful leadership and creating a professional legacy will be explored by experts from Estée Lauder and MAC Cosmetics, supporting IMEX’s Legacy Talking Point this year.

In response to a global shift in attitude and awareness, the first She Means Business conference will also take place during EduMonday, celebrating the role of women in the industry. Meeting and event strategists – both female and male – are invited to share expertise and learn from inspiring speakers and mentors at the half-day event, created in partnership with tw tagungswirtschaft and supported by H-Hotels Group.

Inspiring business experts and academics from outside the meetings industry will provide a fresh perspective and share ideas at PCMA Business School, a free MBA-quality professional development programme.

The wider programme of general education includes exhibitor-focused sessions addressing sales skills, strategies for follow ups and destination marketing techniques. A hands-on masterclass in interaction design enables planners to experience new formats and methods to engage participants. IMEX is also offering the Event Design Certificate Programme free of charge – a full day introduction to the Event Canvas Model, a strategic event management model for customer-centric events.

In between education sessions, attendees can take time to digest their learning in the white space area, recharge in the Be Well Lounge and catch up with colleagues while enjoying live music. EduMonday is rounded off with a happy hour at the neighbouring Adina Hotel, celebrating the start of IMEX in Frankfurt.

EduMonday takes place on Monday 14 May, the day before IMEX in Frankfurt, 15 – 17 May.
