At the event, the Embassy of Nepal also honored two Israelis and a Nepali national who had rescued an elderly Israeli woman from a burning building. One of the rescuers, Gilad Tuffias, speaking at the event, said that without the Nepali woman, who jumped from the burning building and sought help to save the elderly woman, they would not have known about the woman trapped upstairs, and said that Nepal is a beautiful place with kind-hearted people.

The Ambassador of Nepal to Israel, HE Niranjan Kumar Thapa, said that Nepal is a beautiful country with cities that will transport visitors back to bygone eras, and mountains that will humble with their mere presence. Now when Nepal has bounced back on her feet, he requested Israeli friends to pack their bags and visit the beautiful country. The event also had Nepali cultural dances and Nepali food which enthralled the Israeli attendees.
