Bit 2011: right on the market’s doorstep


MILAN, Italy – From February 17-20, 2011 the 31st edition of Bit–International Tourism Exchange will be held in Milan, which closed last February on a positive note regarding the future of the sector: over 5,000 exhibitors were present from 130 countries across 5 continents.

Bit 2011 reconfirms its multi-target formula and its dual personality B2B and B2C – two features which over the years have led the exhibition to become “the” marketplace for the tourism industry in Italy, with a strong brand recognized by the international markets and the public.

The increasing international tourism supply, the significant number of exhibiting companies, the optimization of the workshops as keys to deepen the knowledge of different market segments, focuses on consumer needs and consolidation of institutional participation. These are the key words for Bit 2011: a B2B area completed with added-value contents and services and a B2C area, which turns into a real journey experience.

Bit 2011 will be full of ideas and news, aimed at promptly satisfying the needs of exhibitors in terms of customization of the services on offer. First novelty is the possibility for private companies – and not only the operators indicated by the Italian regions – to attend the two workshops: Bit Buy Italy, the reference business point in Italy where demand and supply meet and among the most important in the world, and Bit Buy Club, the international workshop dedicated to the world of associations.

Following these guidelines, Bit will also make available to exhibitors a Market Overview document, which illustrates in depth the Italian market and how the tourism industry operates. This will allow exhibitors to use this market intelligence tool to interface with the most interesting key players for their business.

The exhibitors may also benefit from additional services in order to complete and enrich their entire show experience: for tourist promotion boards – destination position analyses in the distribution and in the Italian tour operator catalogues and also analyses and evaluation of the 3 major competitors and a list of useful contacts.

Last but not least, the official Bit web site will be redesigned and updated with useful information for exhibitors and visitors and will integrate the 2.0 platform Bit Channel in order to make accessible the multimedia contents of Bit and its exhibitors. And soon the kick-off of the new Bit Tourism Award Contest, open to travelers, will provide the opportunity to vote for nthe best destinations.
