The sports brand to the recent world champion and the first airline in the Middle East have joined together in a most unique circumstance on behalf of the most titled football club in the world. Adidas, Emirates, and Milan have designed and built the first image of the official shirt of Milan for next season as it now appears magnified on the new jumbo Airbus A380, which landed at Milan Malpensa Airport, arriving from Dubai for its maiden Dubai-Milan flight. Emirates signed the shirt sponsorship agreement this past February lasting five years.
Attending the spectacular event were His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group; vice president and deputy managing director of AC Milan, Adriano Galliani; managing director of Adidas Italy, Jean Michel Granier; and president and CEO of SEA Milan Airports, Giuseppe Bonomi. With them was the complete Rossoneri team, led by manager Massimiliano Allegri and captain Massimo Ambrosini.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum said: “The official presentation today of the shirt Fly Emirates-AC Milan, which will be admired by fans all over the world, is emblematic of our passion for football and for Italy. At our new sponsorship agreement for five seasons with AC Milan, we have made the event memorable with the arrival of an A380 in Milan. This will offer passengers the opportunity to experience our super-jumbo for the first time on a route from Italy. ”
“This spectacular presentation of our new shirt best summarizes the philosophy of the three companies – Adidas, Emirates and Milan – at the top in their respective fields. I am sure that this is the first time such a large plane is wearing a football game shirt. All this will serve as a stimulus to do more and better in the near future,” said Adriano Galliani, deputy chairman and managing director of AC Milan.
During the press conference held at Lombardy airpor, Milan’s players wore the new model of the shirt made by tech sponsor, Adidas. The shirt debuted the TECHFIT PowerWEB ™, which applies the most innovative technologies to sportswear.
Jean Michel Granier, CEO of Adidas Italy, added: “The launch of the new Milan shirt is always a very important moment for Adidas – the apex of a creative process that lasted almost two years. It is also a great responsibility, because for millions of people in Italy and worldwide, a Milan shirt is much more than just a sports garment, [it] is a symbol, a sign of belonging, a second skin.”
During the event, guests and the whole team had the opportunity to visit and see a close up the largest aircraft in the world, including an on-board visit of the new giant of the skies.
