Tourism alert: Indian Ocean Cyclone Warning for Reunion and Mauritius

For tourists currently on holidays in the Vanilla Islands regions of Mauritius and Reunion should be aware or a cyclone warning. A  class 3 Cyclon warning for tropical cyclone Berguitta is now in force in Mauritius. The tropical cyclone ‘BERGUITTA’ is moving in a West-South-Westerly direction at a speed of 7 km/h.

Tropical Storm Berguitta is strengthening and is forecast to pass close to Mauritius and Reunion over the next few days. The potential is for damaging winds and flooding rains.

Please note that for safety reason, the airport in Mauritius  is closed and all flights have been canceled for today.

has made the most out of the environment and its satellite presentation resembles that of a Category 4 hurricane.  This may be bad news for Réunion and Mauritius.
