Through its Facebook and Twitter networks, the WTA is establishing its brand voice

Less than four months after its founding and inauguration in Chengdu in China’s Sichuan Province on Sept. 12, 2017, the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) kicks off 2018 with the official launch of the organization’s first social platform accounts outside of China. Through its Facebook and Twitter networks, the WTA is establishing its brand voice and aims to contribute to productive dialogues with travel and tourism communities throughout the world.

“In the age of sharing economy, having a social media presence is imperative for us. As a newly-established global organization, the WTA is a strong proponent of meaningful exchanges and dialogues based on mutual trust and respect for the benefit of all,” China National Tourism Administration Chairman Dr. Li Jinzao, founder of WTA, stated.
He added: “Our Facebook and Twitter platforms allow us to gather relevant travel and tourism trends that will be very useful to our members and for our data-driven promotional activities. They will provide us with important tools to accurately read the pulse and sentiments of the marketplace.”

As the first global non-governmental, nonprofit tourism organization, the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) is committed to promoting peace, global development and poverty reduction through responsible tourism. Working hand in hand with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), it serves to drive global tourism exchanges and cooperation on all levels.

Guided by its vision of “Better Tourism, Better Life, Better World,” the WTA offers professional services to its members by establishing high-level tourism research institutions and providing professional training for governments and businesses.

To enhance the participation of its members at high-level international tourism marketplaces, the WTA will launch three major global events: the World Conference on Tourism for Development, World Tourism Industry Expo and the World Tourism Alliance Annual Conference.

The WTA consists of 89 founding members, 29 in China and 60 from overseas countries, including 62 enterprises, 24 associations, two (2) academic institutions and one media agency. The Association and its Secretariat is currently headquartered in China’s capital, Beijing.
